How much does an electrical panel upgrade cost in the Eastern Panhandle?
Panel upgrade cost depends on the amperage, the condition of the service entrance and meter base, whether the panel is being relocated, and what the utility and local inspector require. Do I need a permit for electrical or HVAC work on my home?
Most panel upgrades, new circuits, rewiring and equipment replacements require a permit and inspection in Berkeley County, Jefferson County and the City of Winchester. Black Diamond pulls the required permits and coordinates the inspection as part of the job, so the homeowner is not responsible for filing paperwork or scheduling inspectors.

Should I repair or replace my AC, furnace or heat pump?

Why does my heat pump run auxiliary heat so much in the winter?
Excessive auxiliary heat usually points to a specific fault rather than normal operation: a failing defrost board, a low refrigerant charge, a thermostat staged incorrectly, or a heat pump undersized for the home. Can you install an EV charger at my house?
Yes. Black Diamond installs Level 2 240-volt EV charging circuits in garages, carports and driveways. Part of the visit is confirming the existing electrical service can carry the additional load — if it cannot, the panel upgrade is quoted alongside the charger rather than discovered partway through the job.
