- Do I need a permit for electrical or HVAC work on my home?
- Most panel upgrades, new circuits, rewiring and equipment replacements require a permit and inspection in Berkeley County, Jefferson County and the City of Winchester. Black Diamond pulls the required permits and coordinates the inspection as part of the job, so the homeowner is not responsible for filing paperwork or scheduling inspectors.
- Should I repair or replace an aging air conditioner or heat pump?
- As a general rule, repair makes sense when the system is under about 12 years old and the repair costs a small fraction of replacement. Replacement usually wins when the unit is 12–15 years or older, uses discontinued R-22 refrigerant, needs a compressor or coil, or has needed repeated repairs in consecutive seasons. - Do you work on propane and oil heating systems?
